A clean, classic style of Santa Barbara with negative space adds drama to the flat appearance of a 1960s rancher. The tight lot with a creek in front and steep hillside in the rear became a major challenge. Relocating the outdoor living space to the front and enjoying views of the golf course opened many opportunities for creative spaces.
